Lab Technician at University

Enhance lab education as a Teaching Lab Technician at the University of Ottawa’s Nursing Campus in Ottawa, ON. Support students and faculty with technical expertise and lab maintenance in a bilingual environment.

In this 11-month contract role, you'll provide essential technical support in the Innovation and Clinical Simulation Laboratory Centre. Your expertise will nurture student proficiency in lab equipment, ensure health and safety compliance, and maintain lab functionality. Collaboration with teaching assistants and faculty will be key in promoting effective lab practices for all users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support setup and maintenance of lab equipment

• Train students on safe use of lab resources

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

• Provide technical advice on lab equipment design

• Manage inventory of lab materials and equipment

Requirements:

• College diploma in natural sciences or related field

• Minimum 1 year of lab support experience

• Bilingual in French and English

• Knowledge of lab equipment and safety regulations

• Strong analytical and communication skills
