General Labour; Modular Maintenance & Repair

We have a full-time position for a General Labour (Modular Maintenance & Repair) in Ottawa, ON. Internally, we call this role Service Technician.

The General Labour is an essential role within the BOXX Modular branch. The role is responsible for cleaning, maintenance, and repair to ensure that our Modular rental fleet is in optimal condition for our customers. In addition, the role is responsible for assisting in completing work to configure modular units to customer's specifications by installing kitchenettes, building walls, and other work as required.

The work is completed both in the yard (outside), in our shop and occasionally out on customer sites.

The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded general contractor or handyman, with experience in areas such as flooring, window and wall repairs and exterior siding.

• Complete general labor type duties including cleaning, painting and moving units in the yard.
• Work closely with the Fleet Administrator and provide update on condition of fleet.
• Loading/Unloading of decks, ramps, furniture and other items as needed.
• Manage warehouse inventory & shelving system for the branch.
• Planning for upcoming projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

• 2-4 years of general laborer experience and/or in general maintenance.
• Modular or trailer/RV experience would be an asset.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment, while juggling multiple priorities.
• Positive attitude, with strong work ethic and team player.
• Problem solving abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to customer site on occasion within the local service area, during work hours.
• Fall protection, First Aid Certification and WHMIS an asset.
• Able to pass a pre-employment criminal records check and Drug and Alcohol Testing.
• Comfortable using a tablet.

• Comfortable with working outdoors in all weather.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Must be able to complete physically demanding duties, including but not limited to standing for long periods, repetitive movement.
