Security Technician – Parachute Team 14/14

. Convergint is currently recruiting for an experienced Security Systems Technician to join their Parachute Team in Canada. This is a mobile role with regular travel outside of the local CTC area.
This role offers a regular shift of 14 days on, 14 days off, with accommodation provided for the duration of your shift.
Responsibilities- Install, program, test, repair, and service a substantial variety of security systems and equipment.
- Read complex blueprints, schematics, and manuals to determine installation requirements, interpret wiring diagrams, and repair equipment using advanced test instruments and hand tools.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and debug a substantial variety of systems for complex problems.
- Operate systems to demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyze performance and identify malfunctions; write non‑routine programs.
- Provide custom systems integrations, detailed upgrades, audits, consultations, or database management; install, configure, and support network systems as assigned.
- Consult with engineering team to resolve unusual problems in system operation, maintenance, and warranty work.
- Act as the company's prime service provider, ensuring Convergint is the customer's first choice for service. Own onsite projects, ensuring safety, quality, and performance.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
- Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; anticipate and meet customer needs without prompting.
- Advanced technical skills in building automation, fire alarm, and/or electronic security systems.
- Self‑starter who works well with minimal supervision.
- Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude, working with hand and power tools.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Advanced organizational skills.
- Highly proficient computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Minimum of five years of security systems field service experience.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance (asset).
- Mobile position with significant travel required.
- Diploma in Electronics preferred.
- Relevant trade experience preferred.
- Industry‑specific certifications such as Lenel, Genetec, CCure, AMAG, Kantech, Avigilon are an asset.
