Position: Concrete Pump Operator (Cavanagh Concrete)
We are seeking a replacement pump operator for our forming division. This individual is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient operation of concrete pumping equipment on residential and commercial construction sites. This includes performing daily inspections, setting up and operating pumps, maintaining equipment, communicating with jobsite personnel, and ensuring all safety protocols are followed. The role requires strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and consistent situational awareness while working around other trades.
Roles and Responsibilities
Drive the concrete pump to job sites and set up equipment including booms, hoses, and outriggersOperate the pump remotely and control concrete flow for accurate and precise placementPerform pre-trip and on-site inspections to assess hazards and ensure safe setupWear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all timesConduct daily equipment checks and clean the pump thoroughly after each use to prevent clogsPerform minor maintenance and repairs as needed and keep the unit clean and organizedComplete all required inspection reports, maintenance logs, work orders, and timecardsCommunicate effectively with site supervisors, territory managers, concrete truck drivers, and construction crewsSupport smooth and efficient pours through proactive coordination and clear communicationAssist with additional physical tasks when not actively pumping, such as moving hoses and pipesExperience and Qualifications
Valid Commercial Driver’s License with clean abstractExperience in construction and operating high-pressure or articulating boom pumpsKnowledge of concrete mixesStrong understanding of safety protocols and regulationsPhysical stamina for demanding tasksAbility to troubleshooting any issuesExcellent communication skills and positive attitudeAbility to work at multiple locations daily on active construction sitesAbility to work Irregular hoursCavanagh Employee Benefits

The hourly range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $36.00 and $38.00 per hour. However, the range offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
