THE ROLE
STRIVE is partnering with a well-established and reputable company in search of a Shop Heavy Duty Mechani
c to join their team in downtown
Ottawa In this permanent, full-time position, you will be responsible for inspecting, servicing, maintaining, and repairingvarious heavy duty equipment.
This is a great opportunity for a mechanically skilled professional who enjoys hands-on work in a fast-paced environment. You will play an important role in ensuring equipment is operating safely and efficiently, while providing a high standard of customer service and supporting shop operations. This role also offers the opportunity to mentor apprentices and new hires as the team continues to grow.

Service, maintain, and troubleshoot a variety of construction and heavy equipment, including earth-moving machines, compact equipment, and aerial lifts (boom lifts, scissor lifts, telehandlers, generators)Diagnose mechanical issues and complete repairs efficientlyTest equipment post-repair to ensure peak performance and safetyMaintain accurate records: inspections, maintenance logs, and work ordersKeep the shop and yard organized and follow all company policiesUphold Health & Safety standards and contribute to a safe workplaceDeliver professional service and support to customers and colleaguesSupport apprentices and new hires with training and guidanceREQUIREMENTS
3+ years of experience servicing and repairing a variety of heavy-duty equipment.Strong knowledge of diesel/gas engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.Comfortable using diagnostic tools and computer applications.421A or 310T certification is a bonus.Valid Class G driver’s license with a good driver’s abstract in good standing.Willing to work overtime as required.Strong troubleshooting skills, safety mindset, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.Strong communication skills needed.Must have own tools.Lifting up to 50 lbs.#INDSTRIVEON
