Position: Working Foreman (General Contracting)
Location: PembrokeDuties and Responsibilities
:
Provide overall coordination and day-to-day scheduling of projects.Health and safety of all workers as per Cavanagh’s Health and Safety Policy and Procedures as well as the Occupational Health and Safety Act.Daily site superintendent logs and hazard analysis/workplans through Site DocsLead, plan, organize and implement all aspects of the project on site alongside Project Manager.Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine scope of work.Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding, and hardware.Manage material for work tasks in an efficient manner to minimize waste.Meet with Owners and Consulting teams in a professional manner and communicate effectively both the concerns and best interests of the company.Maintain active quality control program to ensure compliance with the Cavanagh GC Standards.Engage and build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure common goals are achieved and corporate interests are kept in mind.Manage, mentor and train internal staff.Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience in the Construction industry with leadership and carpentry role.Valid driver’s licenseSite Superintendent training is considered an asset.A passion for interpersonal relationships, self-motivation, and leadership development.Willingness to learn and grow professionally.Strength in analysis and creative problem solving.Experience with COR (Certificate of Recognition) is considered an asset.Cavanagh

The hourly range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $35.00 and $40.00 an hour. However, the range offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
