Job Description

High school diploma or equivalent, welding certification/qualification in aluminum or steel would be an asset. The position requires to be physically fit so the applicant can be standing on their feet the majority of their workday, bending down and over to weld dock frames. The applicants require to have good knowledge on how to use a measuring tape to square off frames, cut pieces and to weld parts together accurately.

Paying attention to details while performing their daily duties is essential.

Provide welding services as required and directed by the Employer, including, but not limited to, the following:
(a) Welding aluminum frames, legs, and custom fabrication once experienced;
(b) Managing time, responsibility, and assignment of different tasks under the care of a supervision;
(c) Assist the Employer with advising, designing, and assembling all necessary raw material required to build decks, docks frames, stairs, boat launch, boat lifts and all accessories as needed;
(d) Maintain, repair, and drive any equipment as necessary to complete your daily task;
(e) Inform and report to the Employer any deficiencies in material, infrastructures and/or equipment in order to perform daily task;
(f) Assistance with maintaining and ordering supplies as required;
(g) Maintenance and upkeep equipment and all power tools.

2. Provide support in the welding and wood shop for cutting, grinding, welding prep, dressing & deburring, drilling, assembly, assisting a long term with fabrication work.

3. Respond immediately to any emergencies, e.g. severe injury, and advise the Employer of other unusual or emergency situations with material and equipment.

4. Be aware of and report any hazards concerning employee health and safety to the Employer promptly.

5. Ensure that keys entrusted to you are kept secure and at hand.

6. Ensure that your peers are looked after while working with you (e.g. taking their break when required) and if incapable of performing a certain task that you are provided with the proper help, equipment to complete assigned task and training as needed).

7. Perform any other duties assigned to you by the Employer.
