Position: Hands-On Power Cable Technician Needed
Apply your technical skills as a Power Cable Technician at Hydro Ottawa, focusing on underground systems and collaborating with a safety-first team. This role is crucial for community electrification.

In this position, you will construct, maintain, and repair the underground cable distribution system, conducting live line work and providing troubleshooting expertise. Your hands-on abilities will directly enhance the reliability of power supply in the Nation's Capital, all while fostering a greener tomorrow and helping train the next generation of technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and repair cables, including fiber optics and high voltage

• Complete safe high-pressure live line operations

• Operate essential electrical testing devices and equipment

• Mentor apprentices and assist in their training

• Coordinate with teams for efficient electrical work

Requirements:

• Journeyman experience in electrical utility or high voltage

• Ability to gain MEARIE certification

• Valid driver’s license;
Class AZ preferred

• Certification in essential safety practices

• Eligibility for Government of Canada security clearance
