HVAC Service Mechanic

Johnson Controls is a global leader in smart, healthy, and sustainable buildings. We are looking for a licensed Journeyperson HVAC Mechanic to join our truck-based team and provide routine service and inspections of mechanical HVAC equipment at customer sites.

Increase your HVAC knowledge; work on factories, hospitals, universities, and other facilities.

• Change and service filters
• Oil and grease bearings
• Perform belt adjustment and replacement services
• Perform cooling tower and condenser maintenance (coils, evaporators, tubes)
• Perform general housekeeping tasks as required by customer contract
• Operate mechanical equipment if deemed necessary by customer contract
• Operate maintenance tasks using basic hand tools as needed
• Perform indoor air quality related maintenance including cleaning of duct systems and drain pans
• Transport rigging equipment to and from sites as needed

• Work flexible shifts, be available for on-call/standby and emergency call-outs when assigned
• Licensed Journeyperson HVAC Mechanic, certified under Ontario 313A, valid G2 Gas Technician License, ODP Certification
• Wearing PPE
• Use hand tools, lift/carry 50 lbs, work on ladders/step stools
• Extended periods on feet in fast-paced environment
• More than 5 years of facility maintenance experience in hospital, university, food, manufacturing, or other commercial/industrial institutions
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics
• Good communication skills; speak and write in English; familiar with BAS
• Working knowledge of computers and handheld devices
• Positive, professional disposition; strong client-service orientation; high sense of urgency
• Team-oriented; dynamic conditions
• Maintain confidentiality of JCCLP and client related business activities
• Reports to Operations Manager(s) on duty
• Receives and follows work direction from Central Dispatch Services and designated Lead Hands
• Self-starter; work independently
• Current clean driver’s license/abstract
• Good standing member with LOCAL 787
• Flexible to travel
• 10 years of Canadian residency to obtain valid Secret Clearance

Pay Range: $63.33 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
