Overview

Electrical Site Inspector — Full Time

INVIRO is seeking a dedicated team member to join our growing mechanical/electrical engineering firm. You will be part of a close-knit team tackling diverse and challenging projects in the ICI sector, with opportunities for professional growth and development.

• Travel throughout Canada to visually inspect electrical building systems in the Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional buildings industry.
• Conduct and attend site visits including site verifications, inspections, and meetings.
• Analyze, diagnose, commission, and provide recommendations for electrical/mechanical equipment as needed.
• Service, maintain, and repair lighting systems.
• Read and interpret product specifications and work with building specifications, drawings, and designs.
• Apply and adhere to national and provincial building codes across Canada.
• Provide technical support as requested.
• Utilize technology tools such as tablets and markup software to review, annotate, and update electrical drawings and site documentation.
• Complete paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
• Other duties as assigned.

• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and access to a personal vehicle.
• A valid 309A license with at least 5 years of experience is required.
• A 442A license is considered an asset.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and their operations.
• Knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as the Canadian Electrical Code, the Canadian National Building Code (NBC), Ontario Building Code (OBC), etc.
• Familiarity with LEED, ASHRAE, CEC, and energy-efficient design principles (LEED AP or CEM certification is an asset).
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a talent for building relationships.
• Solid analytical, detail-oriented, and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility to adapt to various work locations and schedules, including travel away from home.
