Overview
Electrical Site Inspector — Full Time
INVIRO is seeking a dedicated team member to join our growing mechanical/electrical engineering firm. You will be part of a close-knit team tackling diverse and challenging projects in the ICI sector, with opportunities for professional growth and development.
Duties and Responsibilities- Travel throughout Canada to visually inspect electrical building systems in the Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional buildings industry.
- Conduct and attend site visits including site verifications, inspections, and meetings.
- Analyze, diagnose, commission, and provide recommendations for electrical/mechanical equipment as needed.
- Service, maintain, and repair lighting systems.
- Read and interpret product specifications and work with building specifications, drawings, and designs.
- Apply and adhere to national and provincial building codes across Canada.
- Provide technical support as requested.
- Utilize technology tools such as tablets and markup software to review, annotate, and update electrical drawings and site documentation.
- Complete paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and access to a personal vehicle.
- A valid 309A license with at least 5 years of experience is required.
- A 442A license is considered an asset.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and their operations.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as the Canadian Electrical Code, the Canadian National Building Code (NBC), Ontario Building Code (OBC), etc.
- Familiarity with LEED, ASHRAE, CEC, and energy-efficient design principles (LEED AP or CEM certification is an asset).
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a talent for building relationships.
- Solid analytical, detail-oriented, and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to various work locations and schedules, including travel away from home.
