Summary

The Insulation Labourer is responsible for assisting in the installation of insulation materials in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. This role involves preparing work sites, measuring and cutting insulation, and ensuring proper installation techniques are followed to enhance energy efficiency. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of safety protocols, the ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials, and a willingness to work in various environments.

Attention to detail and the ability to work as part of a team are essential for ensuring high-quality insulation work.

Job responsibilites

  • Check for quality and compliance with specifications before installation
  • Clear work areas and set up necessary tools and materials before beginning work
  • Participate in pre-job safety meetings and adhere to safety protocols on site
  • Apply vapor barriers where needed to prevent moisture issues
  • Seal gaps and cracks to enhance insulation performance and energy efficiency
  • Clearly label insulation types and ensure correct application based on specifications
  • Keep work areas tidy and dispose of waste materials properly
  • Report progress and any issues to team leaders or project managers
  • Engage in ongoing training sessions to learn new techniques and safety practices
  • Job requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in construction or insulation work is a plus.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs or more).
  • Stamina for long hours on your feet and in various positions.
  • Familiarity with insulation materials and installation techniques.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
  • Understanding of workplace safety practices and regulations.
  • Ability to use personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Good verbal communication for team collaboration.
  • Precision in measuring, cutting, and installing materials.
  • Must have: steel-toe boots, hard hat, safety glasses
