Your future role

As a Guideway Technician, you are responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of guideway infrastructure through routine inspections, maintenance, and seasonal support activities in line with specified Quality procedures.

As this is an industrial/field work environment, physical demands are in consequence (work outside in all weather conditions, work at heights, etc…). Flexibility to work on different shifts will be needed to meet with operational requirements.

While interacting daily with co-workers, external suppliers/contractors and management, all activities will be performed in accordance with strict Health & Safety procedures as prescribed by legislation and the ALSTOM Health & Safety policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily visual inspections of guideway track segments and infrastructure.
  • Conduct monthly turnout and track segment inspections, as well as quarterly and annual inspections of turnouts and track components.
  • Complete weekly cleaning and greasing of switch plates to maintain optimal functionality.
  • Inspect and maintain fencing and signage throughout the guideway corridor.
  • Support snow and ice removal operations in switch areas during winter conditions to ensure safe and uninterrupted service.
  • Operate heavy equipment, including loaders and skid steers, for snow removal and winter maintenance activities.
  • Identify, document, and report defects, safety concerns, and maintenance requirements.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures, maintenance standards, and operational guidelines.

Comply with and actively enforce Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS) policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Conduct all levels of guideway examinations and complete work arising from inspections in accordance with maintenance standards.
  • Monitor, prioritize, and respond to incoming maintenance work orders.
  • Accurately document inspections, maintenance activities, and corrective actions through a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Maintain detailed maintenance records and provide timely reporting to support asset management and regulatory compliance.

  • On-time resolution for incidents
  • Closure of all Work Orders with accurate information and on time
  • To work with the Rail System Team in case of emergency or extreme weather in order to maintain the line operation
  • Support and supervision of external supplier representatives

Compensation

The expected compensation for this role is $32.46 per hour.
