Reports To: Field Mitigation Supervisor
Location: Ottawa, ON

As a Mitigation Technician, you’ll be on the front lines of emergency response, helping homeowners and businesses recover from water, fire, mold, and other property damage.

- Assess the class, category, and source of water damage.
- Set up and monitor drying equipment according to IICRC standards.
- Take moisture readings, create moisture maps, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Determine when affected areas have reached appropriate drying goals.
- Build containment and establish negative pressure when required.
- Recognize potential asbestos and mold hazards and follow appropriate safety protocols.
- Use and maintain hand tools, power tools, and restoration equipment.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including proper PPE.
- Communicate professionally with customers, team members, contractors, and vendors.
- Participate in the on-call rotation as required.
- Work safely in confined spaces, climb ladders, and lift up to 75 lbs.
- Represent Paul Davis with professionalism, honesty, and integrity.
- 1+ year of restoration/mitigation experience preferred.
- IICRC certifications such as WRT, FSRT, ASD, AMRT, or Asbestos Worker certification are assets. Candidates must be willing to obtain required certifications.
- Strong work ethic and ability to adapt in fast-paced and unpredictable environments.
- Good organizational, communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and meet deadlines.
- Ability to safely perform physically demanding work.
- Flexible availability, including participation in on-call rotations.
- Valid Ontario G Driver’s Licence with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a police background check.
