Ashbury College is a leading not-for-profit independent day and boarding school for students in Grades 3 to 12 located in Canada’s capital and on the traditional, unceded territory of the Anishinàbe Algonquin Nation. We serve a diverse community, including students from over 60 nationalities from the National Capital Region, the diplomatic community, and international boarding and day students.

Our mission is to inspire students in a dynamic learning environment to be intellectually curious, compassionate, and engaged global citizens. Our strategic direction is centred on the highest standards in teaching and learning, whole-student development, access and inclusion within our pluralistic community, community engagement, and resource stewardship for long-term sustainability.

Located in central Ottawa, Ashbury College is seeking two dependable and skilled Building Maintenance Technicians to support the year-round maintenance of our buildings, grounds, and campus facilities. • Practical experience with groundskeeping activities such as grass cutting, trimming, planting, landscaping, leaf removal, and general exterior maintenance.
  • Experience performing winter maintenance, including manual snow shovelling, snowblower operation, ice removal, and the application of salt or other ice-control materials.
  • Experience safely operating common hand tools, power tools, lawn‑care equipment, snow‑removal equipment, and utility vehicles.
  • Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to use email, mobile devices, and electronic work‑order systems.
  • Ability to successfully complete a Vulnerable Sector Check as a condition of employment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Proficiency in French is considered an asset.
Specific responsibilities include:
  • Perform preventive, routine, and corrective maintenance throughout the campus.
