Graduate Assistant – Braves Fan Shop (29135) – Ottawa University, Ottawa, IL.

Ottawa University (established in 1865) is one of the oldest private liberal arts universities in the United States and operates a multi‑campus system serving approximately 4,000 students through campuses in Kansas (Ottawa‑Kansas residential campus and Overland Park‑Kansas adult programs), Arizona (Surprise residential campus and OUAZ adult programs), Wisconsin (Brookfield adult programs), and our OU Online Program based out of Overland Park‑Kansas.

JOB SUMMARY

The Braves Fan Shop Graduate Assistant is responsible for assisting with Fan Shop inventory management, social media marketing and promotions, and website updates. The position also involves organizing the store, entering new inventory into the Win Prism system, coordinating marketing materials, and supporting special events in the Braves Fan Shop.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND REQUIRED DUTIES OF THE JOB
  • Assist with purchasing new inventory for the Braves Fan Shop.
  • Notify supervisor when items need to be reordered or moved to clearance.
  • Place new retail inventory into the Win Prism system.
  • Coordinate marketing materials and submit them to social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).
  • Organize and maintain retail merchandise backstock.
  • Maintain and rearrange store displays.
  • Create advertisements for on‑campus Bright Signs.
  • Assist with Black & Gold Friday sales and promotions.
  • Serve as extra personnel during special events in the Braves Fan Shop (Orientation, Homecoming, Graduation, Book Buy‑Back, etc.).
  • Organize the Braves Fan Shop website, ensuring all new merchandise is uploaded, clearance items marked appropriately, and online orders completed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

GRADUATE ASSISTANT BENEFITS

The selected candidates will receive a tuition waiver (18 credit hours per year) for one of Ottawa University’s graduate programs, a partial meal allowance, and a bi‑weekly living stipend paid over 12 months. Renewal for a second year is based on evidence of academic performance and quality execution of assigned duties. International candidates are eligible only to pursue the on‑campus MBA degree, provided they can secure an F1 student visa and meet the international admission criteria.

Appointments are generally awarded to students who have demonstrated superior aptitude as undergraduates and who appear likely to render high‑quality service to the university. All Graduate Assistants must be eligible to work in the United States and present the proper documentation to Human Resources prior to beginning their assistantship.
