Special Education Teacher
Applications are now being accepted in the Office of Superintendent for the position of a Special Education Teacher for K-1 Life Skills students in Mendota School District 289, effective at the beginning of the school year. The ideal candidate will be an exemplary teacher who holds an Illinois teacher license with a Learning Behavior Specialist PK-21 Endorsement, and is qualified as a "highly qualified teacher" within the guidelines of NCLB.
Provide services to students with disabilities according to student IEP's and other responsibilities necessary in working with students on their caseload. Must work cooperatively with regular education teachers in meeting educational needs of students. Appropriate license for special education as per ISBE requirements. Experience working with life skills and bilingual/ESL a plus but not required.
