We are recruiting for a Chemical Process Engineer to join a stable, well-established manufacturing organization with strong product demand and continued investment in its operations. The position is onsite in North Central, Illinois.
This role is focused on improving plant performance, increasing throughput, and helping the business get more out of its existing processes. The company has strong market demand, so process improvements in this position can have a direct impact on production capacity and profitability.
Responsibilities- Identify and lead process improvement opportunities across plant operations
- Analyze production bottlenecks and recommend practical solutions to increase throughput
- Partner with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve reliability and efficiency
- Support troubleshooting efforts and help resolve day-to-day process challenges
- Evaluate opportunities tied to waste reduction, recovery, and process development
- Contribute to continuous improvement, capital project ideas, and long-term asset performance
- Background in chemical engineering or closely related process engineering work
- Hands‑on experience in a chemical manufacturing, processing, or plant production environment
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work closely with plant teams and translate ideas into practical improvements
- Interest in both daily process optimization and longer‑term process development
