Plant Electrical Engineer
Location:

Job Type and Duration:
Onsite, Direct-Hire
Pay range: $100,000 - $130,000
Our client, a well-established manufacturing organization, is seeking an experienced Plant Electrical Engineer to join their team. This hands-on role is responsible for supporting plant operations through electrical system design, equipment reliability improvements, troubleshooting, maintenance support, and capital project execution.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate electrical equipment installations and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Troubleshoot production equipment and lead critical repairs, replacements, and preventative maintenance initiatives.
- Develop solutions to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and throughput.
- Create, maintain, and update electrical drawings using AutoCAD.
- Design and improve electrical systems, controls, and equipment components.
- Inspect installations and operations to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety requirements.
- Support OSHA compliance efforts and equipment safety reviews.
- Assist with vendor evaluations, new technology integration, and equipment prototyping.
- Participate in capital projects involving new equipment purchases, upgrades, and major repairs.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful completion.
- Mentor maintenance personnel and provide technical guidance as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred, with 5-8 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or plant environment; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting experience, specifically with Omron and Allen-Bradley systems.
- Experience with Pro-face and Allen-Bradley HMI programming.
- Knowledge of relay logic, machine troubleshooting, AC/DC motors, and electrical controls.
- Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics; steam systems is required.
- Ability to read and develop electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic schematics, and P&IDs is a must.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Japanese language skills are a plus but not required.
