Expected pay for this position is $23.35 - $27.48/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.
Overview This is an Onsite PositionPOSITION SUMMARY:
The Medical Staff Coordinator supports the operations and governance of the Medical Staff Office by coordinating physician and advanced practice provider credentialing, privileging, and medical staff governance activities. This role ensures compliance with medical staff bylaws, regulatory standards, and organizational policies while facilitating the review and approval of practitioner appointments and clinical privileges. The coordinator manages credentialing and privileging documentation received from the Credentialing Verification Organization (CVO), prepares materials for the Medical Executive Committee, and supports medical staff leadership in maintaining accurate and compliant practitioner files.
The position serves as a key liaison among the Medical Staff Office, medical staff leadership, administration, and credentialing partners to ensure timely review and approval of practitioner applications. The role also provides administrative support to medical staff committees including meeting coordination, documentation, and communication of follow-up actions.
For posting purposes, a primary work location is listed; however, this role may be assigned to any OSF Health Care location within the area of support. Travel across supported OSF locations will be expected.
QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Experience:
- 2 years of experience in medical staff services, credentialing, provider enrollment, or other healthcare administrative functions supporting providers or healthcare operations.
- Experience supporting medical staff committees or governance processes
- Licensure/ Certification:
- Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) certification within 3 years of hire into role.
- Other Skills/Knowledge:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Education:
- Associate degree
- Experience:
- 5 years of experience in a Medical Staff Office or Medical Staff Services Department within a hospital or health system.
- Experience coordinating activities for Medical Executive Committee (MEC) or other medical staff governance committees.
- Experience working with Credentialing Verification Organizations (CVOs) and privileging workflows
- Other Skills/ Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations, and credentialing standards.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulatory and accreditation requirements
