Extruder Operator at ITW Ottawa, IL

Position:
Extruder Operator – Days shift – Ottawa, IL.

Shift: 12‑hour shift, 6:45am to 7pm, 2‑2‑3 day schedule with alternating weekends off. Clean, safe, temperature‑controlled work environment.

• Utilize judgment to determine acceptable variance from specifications
• Ensure proper equipment set‑up
• Perform and record quality checks accurately
• Communicate troubleshooting efforts with team members, supervisors, and maintenance
• Assure proper quantities are run with no significant over/under runs

• Properly box product
• Ensure product is identified correctly and legibly
• Utilize correct pallet configuration and secure pallet with proper identification

• Understand and observe all safety precautions, rules and regulations
• Understand and observe all HACCP and SQF regulations
• Keep the area around line clean
• Report all safety hazards to supervisor

• Complete all required paperwork properly and legibly

• Assist other operators with spool handling, changeovers, and line cleaning
• Participate in task forces and committees as requested

• Extrusion experience desirable
• High School diploma or GED
• Stable work history
• Demonstrate willingness to accept or seek new assignments
• Mechanical aptitude and good troubleshooting skills

• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to walk

Hourly range: $18.00 – $20.00. Pay rate determined by qualifications and experience.
