Maintenance Technician / Mechanic

2019s surface quarries. This positionu
2019s primary responsibilities will include purchasing parts, tracking maintenance, and completing repairs at local surface quarries.
Essential Functions
- Collaborate and provide oversight support for the maintenance and repairs of mobile equipment.
- Ensure inventory of parts used in equipment repair are purchased and available.
- Expedite urgent requests for critical parts to keep production running.
- Serve as the primary liaison with suppliers ensuring the sourcing of parts and fulfillment of orders.
- Communicate the arrival of parts and order status with managers and suppliers.
- Reconcile credit card purchases and purchase orders timely.
- Follow up on quotes and lead times for orders.
- Assist local teams with the completion of the preventive maintenance program and updating the work order system.
- Coordinate activities from inception to implementation.
- Assist with the completion of equipment inspection procedures to ensure that proper actions are being taken to maximize equipment uptime and to keep the equipment in good working condition.
- Responsible for tracking and measuring the efficiency of PM and major maintenance efforts.
- Collaboration with site management for optimized re-order points, critical spare parts availability, and ongoing maintenance of existing spare parts lists. PO issuance for stock components.
- Review all existing master job procedures regularly and ensure accuracy.
- Other duties as required by the location management.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position and will require 40+ hours per week.
Travel
Travel will be occasional and primarily within the district. Out-of-area and overnight travel is not frequent.
Required Education and Experience:
- Minimum of four years of experience working with gas and diesel engines.
- Minimum of one years of experience sourcing and ordering maintenance parts.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of MSHA regulations
- Effective verbal communication
- Knowledge of heavy mobile equipment and tools, including their design, use, and maintenance

- General physical activities including climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, reach with hands and arms, and handling materials
