Position: (USA) Coach/Ops Mgr Trainee

Position Summary

Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates touring stores and providing feedback. Tour to Teach communication and collaboration at all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicate business objectives to teams effectively.

Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model, managing and supporting customer service initiatives (for example, store community outreach programs), ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved, developing and implementing action plans to correct deficiencies and providing process improvement leadership to ensure a high quality customer experience.

Drives the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating PL (Profit Loss) statements, managing and assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses in the designated business area, monitoring and ensuring effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes, and developing and implementing action plans to mitigate shrink and ensure sales and profit goals are achieved.

Responsibilities
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, and mentoring associates; assigning duties, setting clear expectations, providing associate recognition, communicating expectations consistently, and promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace.
  • Recruit and develop qualified associates to meet staffing needs and achieve company growth potential.
  • Coordinate, complete, and oversee job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, identifying and communicating goals and objectives, building accountability for and measuring progress, and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, support company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity, and implement related action plans using the Open Door Policy.
  • Build high‑performing teams, embrace differences in people, cultures, ideas, and experiences, and create a workplace where associates feel seen, supported, and connected.
  • Attract, retain, empower, and develop talent, and recognize others’ contributions and accomplishments.
  • Act with integrity, maintain and promote the highest standards of ethics and compliance, and support Walmart’s goal of becoming a regenerative company.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • For facilities that sell firearms: successful completion of a firearms‑specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.
  • For facilities that sell only ammunition and have state‑specific requirements: a current state‑issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.
  • Performance of all job‑required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
