Operations Manager II, Fleet Transportation

Responsibilities

• Manage enterprise asset life cycles, including acquisition, operation, maintenance, and renewal, while overseeing total cost of ownership and parts inventory lead times.
• Implement inventory procedures and software tools, generate status and management reports, and record asset acquisition and disposal.
• Collect, analyze, and visualize data to improve processes, automate tasks using RPA/AI/ML, and support data governance and data science initiatives.
• Identify and mitigate transportation risks, develop exception management solutions, and support data-driven planning across the supply chain.
• Schedule fleet operations, manage maintenance budgets, ensure carrier quality, and maintain compliance with safety regulations.
• Lead safety and compliance reviews, conduct audits, and deliver training to promote incident-free operations.
• Oversee shipping, routing, and network plans, optimize vehicle utilization, and enforce federal and state transportation regulations.
• Manage vendor relationships, negotiate KPIs and SLAs, and resolve complex vendor issues.
• Promote sustainability initiatives, communicate energy and waste reduction goals, and guide associates in adopting sustainable practices.
• Engage associates through feedback processes, develop action plans from survey results, and foster a culture of belonging and continuous improvement.
• Model core values of integrity, customer focus, and excellence by making data-driven decisions and encouraging learning from challenges.

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field (e.g., Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Financial Management, Production/Operations Management) and 1 year experience in an operations/distribution/logistics/retail environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees.
• OR 1 year experience as a Walmart Logistics Area or Operations Manager supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing associates; managing associate workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of associates.
• OR 1 year experience as a Walmart Logistics Load Manager.
• OR 3 years experience in an operations/distribution/logistics/retail environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees.

• Distribution, financial modeling and analysis, logistics, Microsoft Office, modeling/forecasting, operations, budgeting, profit and loss accountability, recruiting, supervising associates, training and development, Walmart Logistics Manager and Walmart Logistics Systems experience.
• Bachelors:
