Job Description
Fusion Medical Staffing is looking for a Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for an ICU assignment in Ottawa, Kansas. This 13‑week travel nursing position offers 36 hours per week on a 12‑hour night shift.

- One year of recent experience as an ICU RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) and ACLS (AHA/ARC) certifications
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification
- TNCC, NIHSS certification
- Other certifications or licenses may be required
- Assess and monitor critically ill patients, recognizing subtle changes in condition
- Administer complex medications and treatments per critical‑care protocols
- Operate and manage advanced life‑support equipment
- Ensure patient safety and comfort in high‑acuity ICU settings
- Record significant conditions, reactions, and interventions, notifying providers of changes in patient status
- Perform and interpret advanced hemodynamic monitoring (arterial lines, central venous pressure, pulmonary artery catheters)
- Accurately document all assessments and interventions in a timely manner
- Provide education to patients and families regarding the ICU environment and treatments
- Communicate closely with interdisciplinary teams to optimize care
- Maintain proficiency in critical‑care procedures and technologies through ongoing education
- Adhere to strict infection‑control protocols to protect patients
- Engage in quality‑improvement initiatives to enhance outcomes and efficiency
- Perform other duties as assigned within scope
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection‑control guidelines, and regulatory standards
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication
- Proficient reading, writing, and oral communication in English
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, with basic PC skills
- Physical Abilities – remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Interpersonal Skills – work effectively with diverse personnel, maintain professionalism
- Technical/Motor Skills – fine manipulation, assistance with procedures, use of departmental equipment
- Mental Requirements – cope with public interaction, meet deadlines under pressure, work with irregular schedules, maintain concentration on details
