Critical to the production process, this position performs necessary repairs and maintenance on various heavy fabrication equipment within the facility. Mechanically inclined and a quick learner. Familiar with OSHA, EPA requirements and local codes.
Safe working habits. Ability to weld. Must have experience with cranes and hoists. The maintenance mechanic utilizes a high degree of proficiency while employing the full skills of the trade. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily.

Core Responsibilities- Repair and maintain shop machines and equipment
- Analyze problems with various equipment and machines.
- Recommend cost‑effective solutions
- Working knowledge of repair and maintenance on motors, controls, hydraulics, and pneumatic equipment.
- Work with minimum supervision.
- Climb to do repairs with no fear of heights.
- Keeps work area organized and clean.
- Adhere to and follow all safety rules and PPE requirements.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and at least 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Specialized Knowledge – Certificates & Licenses- Equipment knowledge & skills – may include but are not limited to various shop hand tools and maintenance repair equipment.
- Language skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, such as repair orders, to further provide documentation of completed tasks and future upgrades on equipment. - Mathematical skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure. Ability to apply basic math concepts. - Reasoning ability:
Ability to apply common sense to in‑depth understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standard and non‑standardized situations. Ability to learn things quickly. - Certificates, licenses, registrations:
