Job Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring production and facility equipment is working at all times. The candidate will install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all equipment and follow preventive maintenance schedules along with existing protocols including building maintenance.

Main

Duties & Responsibilities

Helps to keep equipment operational, conduct machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance. Maintains inventory of repair parts and supplies. Provides emergency and unscheduled repairs during production and scheduled maintenance during machine service.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Competencies
  • Performs record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and follows safety regulations.
  • General knowledge required in mechanics (gears, bearings, pulleys, belts, etc.), pneumatics and electric drives.
  • Effectively install and maintain production machines and plant facility’s equipment.
  • Maintain inventory of repair parts and supplies.
  • Conduct machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance service.
  • Provides emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and scheduled maintenance during machine service.
  • Performs mechanic skills including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical or plumbing issues, replace or repair parts, test, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Complies with all safety regulations and maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  • Learn and comply with all company policies and procedures including safety guidelines and practices.
  • Completes all other tasks as assigned.

On‑Site:
This role is required on‑site 3 days at the Ottawa, KS location.

Qualifications Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Blueprint Reading

Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, and/or schematics.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Preference given for maintenance experience.

Physical Demands

The job requires standing, using hands and fingers, handling, feeling, communicating, and listening regularly. Requires walking, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling occasionally. Must be able to walk on concrete for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs., and climb ladders and operate forklifts. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and depth perception.

Work Environment

Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts; noise level is usually very loud.

Training Required

Training shall be in accordance with Mac Fastener Training Matrix.

Compensation

The expected pay range is $22.80 to $27.20 per hour, plus potential incentives such as equity, commissions or other variable performance‑related bonuses. Additional details provided by recruiting team during interview.
