Job Details
Title: Family Preservation Services Case Manager
Location: Ottawa, KS
Type: Full Time
Salary: $45,000 - $49,500 per year
ResponsibilitiesThe Family Preservation Services (FPS) Case Manager works in the homes of families to teach essential skills such as problem‑solving, crisis management, parenting, communication, budgeting, home maintenance, and life skills. The role also involves connecting families to community resources to stabilize and strengthen their support system.
- Carry a caseload of 12‑15 families with assistance from a Family Support Worker.
- Meet with families in the home at least weekly and meet with each child alone at least monthly to address safety, well‑being, and progress on case plan activities.
- Be available to families to assist with any crisis or conflict that may arise.
- Develop Family Case Plans (and Child Case Plans when necessary) and coach families toward completing case plan tasks.
- Collaborate with other team members and report to the Manager of Family Preservation.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience working with children.
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or another human services related field (required);
Master’s degree preferred. - At least 21 years of age and capable of passing a background check, physical, and drug screening.
- Valid driver’s license in the state of residence, proof of current vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation.
