We are seeking a skilled and reliable Local CDL A Truck Driver / Yard Jockey in Edgerton, KS
.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for exercising safe and efficient practices when operating equipment adhering to all federal and state driving regulations. They will play a crucial role in ensuring timely moves and service to our customers and team.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate regional routes within a 300-mile radius of Kansas City/Edgerton hubs.
• Pick up and deliver intermodal containers between rail yards and customer locations.
• Work with major rail hubs including BNSF, NS, CSX, and CPKC.
• Manage drop & hook and live load/unload freight (majority no-touch).
• Execute deliveries across multiple states including KS, MO, NE, IA, IL, OK, and AR.
• Maintain accurate logs and comply with DOT and HOS regulations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and rail yard personnel.
• Ensure safe handling of equipment and freight at all times.

Required Qualifications

• Valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License).
• Proven experience in regional or intermodal trucking.
• Ability to operate within multi-state routes and rail yard environments.
• Willingness to work Tuesday–Saturday schedule (5 days on / 2 days off).
• Ability to manage hours of service independently across assigned shifts.
• Strong understanding of safety, compliance, and load handling.
• Consistent and stable work history in driving roles.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

• Intermodal container experience (rail yard operations).
• Experience with drop & hook freight operations.
• Familiarity with Midwest regional routes.
• Strong safety record and inspection history.
• Ability to adapt to varying start times and freight volumes.

Contract

Full-time, Permanent; self-employed/freelance not applicable.

Hours

Tuesday–Saturday schedule (5 days on / 2 days off).

Pay

$78,000 – $82,000 annually.

Onsite across Des Moines, Ottumwa, Omaha, and Edgerton.
