CDL-A Local Truck Driver – Grain & Fertilizer Account | $91K/Year
Join a dedicated local driving position based in Ottawa, KS, serving farmers and industrial customers throughout the region. Haul grain and fertilizer while enjoying a Monday-Friday schedule, assigned day cab equipment, and daily home time.
Pay Details $91,000.00 per year- Average Weekly Pay: $1,750
- Additional safety training is paid at the applicable hourly rate
- Holiday pay is paid at the applicable hourly rate
- Steel-toed boot costs reimbursed by the account
- Dedicated local position based in Ottawa, KS
- Operate throughout Kansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri
- Home daily
- Serve local farmers and industrial customers
- Haul grain and fertilizer primarily throughout Kansas
- Average 15-16 round-trip loads
- Live load and unload freight
- Deliver bulk grain, including soybeans, corn, wheat, milo, and other agricultural products
- Pick up, weigh, and deliver grain to processing plants and customer locations
- Deliver liquid and dry fertilizers and insecticides to applicator tractors in the field
- Mix chemicals, refill water tanks, and load small quantities of 2.5-gallon containers
- Ensure hoses, lines, and equipment are properly secured
- Operate fertilizer applicators at farms with assistance from farm staff
- Peak season freight mix is approximately 50% grain and 50% fertilizer
- During the off-season, freight becomes more grain-focused due to weather-dependent fertilizer operations
- Drivers may work off-account when freight volumes are low
- Assigned automatic day cab trucks with no slip seating
- Mostly feeder trailers with gravity loading
- Equipment must remain at the account during time off
- Training provided on operating transfer booms to fill applicator bins
- Monday-Friday schedule
- Start times between 5:00 AM and 6:00 AM
- Local routes with daily home time
- Valid Class A CDL
- Minimum 3 months of truck driving experience
- Must obtain a Hazmat endorsement within 90 days
- Must obtain a Tanker endorsement within 30 days
- Steel-toed boots required; reimbursement provided by the account
- Must be comfortable working around agricultural chemicals and fertilizer products
- Ability to assist with mixing chemicals and handling agricultural delivery equipment
- Must be able to safely secure hoses, lines, and related equipment
- Must meet all DOT, company, and account-specific hiring requirements
- Safe driving record
