POSITION TITLE:

Special Education Teacher, Strat II BD, Evans

REPORTS TO:

Building Principal, Director of Special Programs

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor's degree in special education or related field

* Valid teaching certificate with special education endorsement

* Certified in either Strat II BD

* Knowledge of special education laws and regulations

* Experience developing and implementing IEPs

* Ability to use specialized instructional techniques

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills

* Patience and compassion for students with disabilities

* Ability to collaborate effectively with other educators and support staff

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities

* Assess students' needs, strengths, and challenges

* Use specialized instructional techniques to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities

* Collaborate with other educators and support staff to develop and implement learning strategies and accommodations

* Monitor and evaluate student progress, modifying instruction as needed

* Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to special education

* Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress
