JOB TITLE:
Preschool Teacher
REPORTS TO:
Preschool Director and Title I Director
To provide a flexible preschool program emphasizing social skills, child-initiated activities, creative expression, enhancement of self-confidence, development of learning readiness skills and child development.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Must have an elementary teaching certification with early childhood certification endorsement PK/K.
* Reading endorsement preferred.
* Such alternatives to the above qualification as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provides developmentally appropriate learning experiences in accordance with District established preschool curriculum.
* Participates in schedules screening and round-up procedures to identify eligible new students.
* Participates in scheduled evaluation activities as established by the Preschool Coordinator. Submits results obtained to the Preschool Coordinator in a timely manner.
* Conducts home visits with students and families in accordance with established schedules.
* Conducts end-of-year conferences with parents.
* Maintains appropriate records and documentation of student progress.
* Participates in meetings with the school Preschool Parent Advisory Committee. Provides guidance and direction as needed.
* Conducts and participates in monthly family meetings and activities as scheduled with the Preschool Coordinator. These activities may be held after normal working hours.
* Provides supervision and guidance to preschool teacher associate in learning activities in classroom and home visits.
* Other such duties as may be assigned by the building principal, Title I Director of Preschool Coordinator.
