Travel RN - Labor & Delivery

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Ottumwa, IA, requiring a minimum of 1-2 years of L&D experience and an active Iowa or Compact RN license.

Job Details

• OB/GYN Combined unit in a regional hospital setting serving Southeast Iowa,

• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM,

• 36 hours per week with every other weekend required,

• No on-call requirements,

• Active labor patient ratio is 1:1;
Couplet Care ratio is 3:1,

• Intermediate fetal monitoring and Philips Tracevue equipment used,

• Meditech EHR system in use,

• Floating within the hospital to other units as needed,

• 8-week contract,

Job Requirements

• Active Iowa or Compact RN license required,

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and S.T.A.B.L.E - RQI certifications are not accepted,

• Minimum 1-2 years of L&D experience required; candidates with 1 year of experience may be considered if they have prior travel nursing experience,

• Social Security number required for consideration,

• Date of birth required for consideration,

• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for the position,

• This is a rapid response position with an expected start within 7-10 days of offer acceptance,

• Iowa SING background check (criminal and child abuse portions) required to clear prior to start - no instant or statewide searches accepted; all county and state background checks must be fully cleared,

• Mandatory Reporter certification required (both Child and Adult),

• 10-panel drug screening including opiates required,

• Titers must be dated within the last 12 months (MMR, Hep B, Varicella, TB),

• COVID vaccination card required,

• Candidates who have worked permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible,

• Candidates who are currently employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
