Job Overview

Seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week day shift assignment at a regional medical center in Southeast Iowa. This position supports active labor, couplet care, and postpartum services in a collaborative unit environment.

Both 36-hour and 48-hour guarantees available.

• 3x12 Day Shifts
• 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 36 or 48 guaranteed hours available
• 13-week contract
• Every other weekend
• No call required
• Monday or Tuesday start options

• Active Labor Ratio: 1:1
• Couplet Care Ratio: 3:1
• Intermediate fetal monitoring
• Philips Trace Vue monitoring system
• Charting:
  Meditech
• Float required within hospital as needed

Patient Population:

• Laboring mothers
• Postpartum couplets
• Newborn stabilization

• Provide 1:1 care during active labor
• Perform postpartum couplet care
• Administer and monitor OB-related medications
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpretation
• Support vaginal and cesarean deliveries
• Collaborate with OB providers and interdisciplinary team
• Float within facility as needed

• Active Iowa RN license
• BLS
• ACLS
• NRP
• STABLE
• 1–2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience
• Travel experience preferred (1 year experience considered with prior travel)
• Must reside at least 60 miles from facility

• Iowa Single Background Check (criminal and child abuse) required — no exceptions
• All county/state background checks fully cleared prior to start
• Mandatory Reporter Certification (Child & Adult) required
• 10-panel drug screen including opiates
• Titers within last 12 months (MMR, Hep B, Varicella, TB)

• 36 guaranteed hours (48 available)
• 16 hours non-billable orientation
• Facility may cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• Guaranteed hours begin at 3rd cancellation
• No locals accepted

Must have strong active labor and couplet care experience. Iowa Single State background clearance required prior to start. Full submission packet required (resume, skills checklist, self-assessment, submission form). 36 or 48 hour guarantee available.
