Travel RN - Labor & Delivery

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Ottumwa, IA, requiring an active IA or compact RN license and certifications including BLS, ACLS, NRP, and STABLE.

Job Details

• 13-week travel contract on a day shift schedule (7a-7p),

• OB/GYN Combined unit within a regional health center serving Southeast Iowa for over 125 years,

• L&D specialty with couplet care responsibilities,

• Patient ratios: 1:1 for active labor, 3:1 for couplet care,

• Uses intermediate fetal monitoring and Philips Tracevue equipment,

• EMR:
Meditech,

• Every other weekend required,

• No on-call requirements,

• Floating within the hospital to other units as needed,

Job Requirements

• Active IA or compact RN license required,

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and STABLE (AHA certifications required),

• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required; candidates with 1 year of experience may be considered if they have prior travel nursing experience,

• Social Security number required for consideration,

• Date of birth required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Iowa SING background check (criminal and child abuse portions) required prior to start - no exceptions,

• All background checks (counties and states) must be fully cleared before start date; instant or statewide searches are not accepted,

• Mandatory Reporter certification required (Child and Adult),

• Drug test must be a 10-panel screening including opiates,

• Titers must be dated within the last 12 months (MMR, Hep B, Varicella, TB),

• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position,

• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible,

• Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during this assignment
