The Registered Nurse works under the supervision of the Director and is responsible for caring for the patient and the development of a nursing plan of care.
Responsibilities- Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
- Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with the care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
- Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
- Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
- Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program with a current unencumbered Registered Nurse License in Iowa or from a Compact State.
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Recent RN experience.
- One year of medical/surgical nursing experience.
