Position Summary

The Registered Nurse works under the supervision of the Director and is responsible for caring for the patient and the development of a nursing plan of care.

Responsibilities
  • Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
  • Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with the care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
  • Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
  • Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program with a current unencumbered Registered Nurse License in Iowa or from a Compact State.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Recent RN experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of medical/surgical nursing experience.
