About the Opportunity
Ottumwa Regional Health Center (a Lifepoint Health community hospital) is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intermediate Medical Care team. You will work 12-hour shifts, full-time days, and earn a $15,000 Commitment Bonus over 2 years.
Responsibilities- Perform plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care for the Angio and Medical Surgery units.
- Document patient care and monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
- Assist patients with daily activities (personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
- Coordinate care across disciplines, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support.
- Evaluate learning needs of patients/families and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of patients.

Applicants must have a current state RN license and an associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school.
Additional requirements:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six (6) months of hire.

Intermediate Medical Care TeamThe team operates on a 4:1 nurse to patient ratio in a 4-bed unit. Full- and part-time employees rotate every third weekend and major holidays.
