TNAA Total Med RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a position in Ottumwa, Iowa.

We’re looking for Labor and Delivery RNs for an immediate opening. The ideal RN should have at least 3 years of recent acute care experience.
L&D Travel Nurses provide care and support for women before, during, and after the delivery of a baby. L&D RNs must ensure that the medical as well as emotional needs of their patients are met throughout the birthing process.
As an L&D RN, you’ll be responsible for:
- Assisting physicians with epidural and pain medication administration, episiotomies, and preparation for cesarean delivery.
- Staying with and monitoring patients throughout labor.
- Monitoring contractions and helping patients with breathing techniques.
- Checking cervix periodically to monitor progression.
- Ensuring beds are kept clean and dry; cleaning bodily fluids before and after birth.
- Aiding physicians with drapes, gloves, gowns, delivery instruments, etc.
- Providing immediate care of newborns.
L&D Travel Nurses should be able to stand, walk, bend, lean, and stoop for long periods. They should lift up to 20 lbs comfortably, with occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. The role requires strong coping skills for stress and the ability to relate to patients of all ages and backgrounds.
Requirements:ACLS, BLS, NRP, STABLE, 2 years experience. Additional certifications may be required before an assignment.
