Salary Range: Entry rate approx. $38.64-$38.79/hr

Full-time (40hrs/wk) position subject to on-call, overtime, nights, alternating shifts, weekends, and holidays. Travel is required to job sites for extended periods, sometimes for days or weeks, within the designated seniority region. Training is company-paid on-the-job and classroom training, including travel to the BNSF Training Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform construction, maintenance, and repairs of railroad bridges, tunnels, culverts, and other structures.
  • Repair timber bridges, trestles, and tunnel supports and replace structural steel members of bridges.
  • Place and finish concrete surfaces and perform conventional carpentry work.
  • Read blueprints to determine required materials, dimensions, layout work, and mark cutting and assembly lines.
  • Assemble, cut, shape materials, fasten with appropriate fasteners, rig materials for hoisting, and operate company vehicles as directed.
  • Work in a safety-sensitive environment that may include diverse and extreme weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
  • Work without BNSF assistance in obtaining, maintaining, or extending employment authorization.
  • 21 years old or older.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or obtain one within the first 60 days of employment.
  • Work safely in the specified working conditions, at heights, and using fall protection equipment.
  • Work shift hours as required.
  • Meet travel requirements.
  • Read, write, and communicate in English, including oral and written instructions, and use email, text, telephone, and other communication methods.
