Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant is responsible for completing and coordinating daily, weekly, and monthly accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and providing analytical review of financial statements. The Senior Accountant has a thorough comprehension of general accounting functions and uses this knowledge to provide insight to other departments. In addition, the Senior Accountant provides support in implementing and improving processes to ensure the division's and the organization's success.

• Financial Reporting & GAAP Compliance: Manage the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements and general ledger reconciliations to ensure strict adherence to GAAP standards.
• Job Performance Analysis & Communication: Review project-level financial performance and deliver clear, actionable insights to stakeholders to drive operational success.
• Audit Oversight & Technical Support: Support the Manager of Financial Operations in leading external audits and managing complex ad hoc reporting for executive leadership.
• Systems Expertise & Asset Management: Serve as a subject matter expert for accounting technology platforms while overseeing fixed assets, inventory, and core accounting documentation.

• Ethical Leadership & Professionalism: Maintain the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality in strict alignment with Musselman & Hall’s company policies and core values.
• Organizational & Analytical Mastery: Leverage advanced problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail to manage complex workflows and consistently meet rigorous deadline.
• GAAP Expertise & Financial Research: Apply a deep understanding of generally accepted accounting principles to research complex topics and lead the implementation of financial changes.
• Technical Proficiency & Communication: Demonstrate expertise in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Vista HRIS while communicating financial insights effectively across all levels of the organization.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• Master’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience required
• Experience in the construction industry preferred
• Familiarity with construction billing, including lien waivers, retainage, and AIA format, preferred
