Who You Are
The Senior Accountant will provide monthly and daily general ledger accounting for our international management companies and intercompany accounting. The role will work closely with our existing team of accountants to provide guidance and assistance where needed to complete month-end procedures and reports to the property accounting supervisor.
What You Will Do- Provide guidance on processes/procedures to other team members as needed.
- Provide complex accounting treatments and analysis.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues to ensure data integrity.
- Assist with compliance of internal controls to ensure documentation reflects current processes.
- Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of month‑end accounting close functions, including journal entries, accruals, fixed assets, revenue and expense deferrals, and bank reconciliations.
- Perform general ledger reconciliations.
- Prepare income statement and balance sheet analysis on a monthly, quarterly, year‑end, and as‑needed basis.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year‑end financial statements.
- Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts, working with the operations team to analyze and explain budget variances.
- Review purchase requests for accurate GL coding and compare against budgeted expenditures.
- Prepare audit schedules and other analyses for the year‑end audit.
- Assist with implementing software or process upgrades and enhancements as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Three or more years of recent accounting experience.
- MBA preferred.
- CPA preferred.
- Five or more years of recent accounting experience.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with all levels of the organization.
- Solid, comprehensive understanding of GAAP and internal control compliance.
- Strong computer skills, including accounting systems such as Microsoft Dynamics GP, and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
