Senior Accountant

We are seeking an experienced and detail-driven Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team. In this role, you will take ownership of core accounting operations — including month-end close, financial reporting, and technical accounting — while serving as a key liaison to external auditors. The ideal candidate brings 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, a strong command of US GAAP, and the ability to operate with a high degree of independence in a fast-paced environment.

Must be local to Kansas City / Overland Park.

• Own the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, and prepaids
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Perform flux and trend analysis on income statement accounts
• Reconcile bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and subledgers; investigate and resolve variances

• Apply relevant ASC standards to ensure accurate accounting treatment across transactions
• Maintain fixed asset records and related reconciliations
• Assist in the preparation of tax filings and regulatory reports, including sales tax and 401(k)
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements

• Serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors during financial statement, sales tax, and 401(k) audits
• Prepare audit schedules and provide supporting documentation in a timely and organized manner

• Partner with internal departments to ensure accurate and complete financial reporting
• Assist with annual physical inventory
• Support ad hoc financial analysis and other duties as needed

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; must have CPA or CPA candidacy
• 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a multi-entity or operationally complex environment
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and core ASC standards
• Demonstrated ownership of month-end close and financial reporting processes
• Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency; ERP experience required — Microsoft Dynamics Business Central a plus
• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to accuracy
