Job Overview
This role manages the day-to-day operations of biweekly, multi-state payrolls within a collaborative team environment to ensure accurate employee compensation. Primary functions include preparing, analyzing, reconciling, and reviewing payroll reports to resolve discrepancies and process various pay data items such as bonuses, commissions, and garnishments. Key differentiators involve handling tax adjustments, deductions, direct deposit setups, returns, and managing unclaimed wages with attention to compliance and accuracy.
Success is measured by the accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing, effective issue resolution, and adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements. The work impacts the organization by ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time, supporting financial integrity and employee satisfaction.
Hybrid role: 3 days per week in the office. Based in Overland Park, KS.
Job Responsibilities- Audit and validate payroll files and reports through reconciliation and review to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Administer batch pay entries, retroactive adjustments, off-cycle payments, stop payments, manual check preparation, and other variable pays accurately within a team environment.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to compile payroll data including garnishments, time and labor records, paid time off, taxes, insurance, retirement contributions, and other third-party payments.
- Upload, document, and transmit payroll files to external service providers to maintain payroll processing continuity.
- Handle general inquiries related to payroll, deductions, and time and attendance to support employee and management needs.
- Also responsible for other duties/projects as assigned by business management as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree or a combination of education and experience deemed equivalent (Required).
- 2-4 years of related experience working with multi-state payroll, payroll tax or garnishment administration (Preferred).
- Experience supporting a large organization (20,000+ people) (Preferred).
- Experience with Workday, Kronos, ADP, Kene Xa, and multi-state tax experience (Preferred).

Base Pay Range: $19.97 - $36.02 per hour.
