About the Role

As a Tax Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to gain experience, exposure, and rewards that fulfill your purpose and offer flexibility to balance your work and personal life. In this role, you’ll be a key player within our Tax team, working alongside subject matter experts with deep knowledge in the accounting industry. You’ll be instrumental in building strong relationships with our clients and collaborating with senior leaders to deliver quality solutions.

You’ll recommend changes and enhancements to existing policies and controls, to make sure they are current, adequate, functional, and utilized in accordance with standards established by the Firm.

What You’ll Do
  • Oversee and coordinate tax planning and projections for closely held businesses and their owners.
  • Review a variety of tax returns for closely held businesses and individuals.
  • Conduct and review tax research projects to support accurate and strategic tax decisions.
  • Prepare documentation and coordinate responses for federal and state tax auditors.
  • Proactively communicate emerging tax issues and industry insights to clients.
  • Deliver strategic advisory and consulting services that support client success.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to staff through supervision, training, and performance feedback.
  • Identify opportunities and recommend process improvements to enhance client service and team performance.
  • Support consulting engagements for large private and public companies on a project basis.
  • Engage in business development by identifying opportunities, building rapport, and supporting client growth initiatives.
  • Engage in professional development and firm-sponsored training to stay at the forefront of industry best practices.
About You
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required
  • Licensed CPA
  • At least 8 years of recent public accounting experience with an emphasis in tax
  • 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience
  • Industry experience in real estate, construction, or manufacturing is considered a plus
  • Experience with planning, compliance, research and defense
  • Strong background and experience with Tax methodologies and techniques
  • Ability to build relationships while asking tough questions
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and client-relationship skills
