CB Partners is partnering with a leading manufacturing organization to identify an Accounting Manager to join its corporate accounting team. This position will play a key role in technical accounting, lease accounting, compliance, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives while partnering closely with accounting and finance leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and oversee the company's lease accounting process, including lease classification, journal entries, reconciliations, disclosures, and ASC 842 compliance.
- Lead technical accounting research and prepare accounting memos related to complex transactions and accounting guidance.
- Support quarterly and annual impairment analyses, goodwill testing, and going concern assessments.
- Ensure compliance with SOX requirements and maintain strong internal controls across accounting processes.
- Assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal entry reviews and balance sheet analysis.
- Partner with leadership on M&A activity, debt transactions, financial reporting initiatives, and special projects.
- Support annual audits through preparation of schedules, documentation, and auditor requests.
- Analyze accruals, reserves, and other accounting estimates to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Collaborate with treasury, financial reporting, controllership, and operational teams to support business objectives.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement efficiencies within accounting operations.
- Assist with ERP implementation and upgrades, serving as a key resource and super user.
- Work across multiple systems to extract, analyze, and validate financial data.
- Develop and document accounting policies and procedures while ensuring consistency across the organization.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and oversight to accounting staff members.
- Support executive leadership with ad hoc reporting, analysis, and strategic initiatives.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
- 5+ years of accounting experience and 3+ years of leadership or managerial experience.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and technical accounting.
- Experience with SOX compliance and internal controls.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong financial systems aptitude.
- CPA certification
- Experience with SAP, Black Line, Power BI, Lease Query, or similar systems.
