Accounting Manager

CB Partners is partnering with a leading manufacturing organization to identify an Accounting Manager to join its corporate accounting team. This position will play a key role in technical accounting, lease accounting, compliance, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives while partnering closely with accounting and finance leadership.

• Manage and oversee the company's lease accounting process, including lease classification, journal entries, reconciliations, disclosures, and ASC 842 compliance.
• Lead technical accounting research and prepare accounting memos related to complex transactions and accounting guidance.
• Support quarterly and annual impairment analyses, goodwill testing, and going concern assessments.
• Ensure compliance with SOX requirements and maintain strong internal controls across accounting processes.
• Assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal entry reviews and balance sheet analysis.
• Partner with leadership on M&A activity, debt transactions, financial reporting initiatives, and special projects.
• Support annual audits through preparation of schedules, documentation, and auditor requests.
• Analyze accruals, reserves, and other accounting estimates to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Collaborate with treasury, financial reporting, controllership, and operational teams to support business objectives.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and implement efficiencies within accounting operations.
• Assist with ERP implementation and upgrades, serving as a key resource and super user.
• Work across multiple systems to extract, analyze, and validate financial data.
• Develop and document accounting policies and procedures while ensuring consistency across the organization.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and oversight to accounting staff members.
• Support executive leadership with ad hoc reporting, analysis, and strategic initiatives.

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• 5+ years of accounting experience and 3+ years of leadership or managerial experience.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and technical accounting.
• Experience with SOX compliance and internal controls.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong financial systems aptitude.

• CPA certification
• Experience with SAP, Black Line, Power BI, Lease Query, or similar systems.
