Senior Accountant

LHH is working on an exclusive search for a Senior Accountant with a large company in the Overland Park area. Our client is experiencing a lot of growth, and this position is an addition to staff. As a Senior Accountant, this person will play a key role in managing financial operations, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This position offers significant growth potential, with opportunities to expand responsibilities and advance within the organization as the company continues to scale.

Key Responsibilities:

• Month-End & Year-End Close: Lead and manage the monthly and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with department heads to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial models that support strategic planning.
• Audit & Compliance: Coordinate with external auditors and ensure compliance with internal controls, tax regulations, and industry standards.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes, systems, and reporting tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Mentorship & Leadership: Provide guidance to junior accounting staff and contribute to a collaborative, high-performance finance culture.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• CPA preferred
• 2-5+ years of public accounting or corporate accounting experience
• Proficiency in technical accounting and the ability to apply complex accounting standards.
