Position: Administrative Assistant I, SRC

Department: Academic Affairs

Type of Position: Part-time Temporary

Exemption Status: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule, Hours per week: Morning shift 7:30 am – 10:30 am and a possible afternoon shift 4 pm – 9 pm, 10–12 hours per week

Starting Salary Range: $16.31–$20.77 per hour, based on experience

Position Summary

Work under the guidance of the supervisor to manage the activities of the Academic Resource Center to ensure a friendly, productive, and safe learning environment for students. Serve as the initial contact of the center and complete day‑to‑day office support duties using effective communication, organizational, and time‑management skills and under close supervision.

Required Qualifications
  • Entry‑level support role.
  • Typically requires little or no related experience.
  • High School Diploma required.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact, greeting and assisting students, staff, faculty, and visitors via in‑person, email, and phone.
  • Check students in and out of the online system, connect them to their tutor or appropriate resource, take appropriate action in crisis situations, and notify the appropriate campus personnel.
  • Maintain student and center records in the online system and in physical files, ensuring confidentiality per FERPA guidelines.
  • Manage daily center activities: open/close the center, schedule appointments, handle drop‑in students, and address additional student requests.
  • Order and organize office supplies and maintain the department printer.
  • Manage room reservations and coordinate with the Director and other staff to assist student tutoring and resources.
  • Maintain smooth operations by following center and Academic Resource Center rules and procedures; collaborate with colleagues and cover shifts as needed.
  • Keep the desk and center clean and organized.
  • Submit campus services and technology requests and communicate issues with the Director.
  • Promote Academic Resource Center services and other campus services, direct students as necessary, and educate students on how to access resources independently.
  • Efficiently manage center resources (books, models, technology, headphones, etc.), ensuring proper check‑in/check‑out.
  • Attend relevant campus training and department meetings; gain proficiency in campus software systems and accessibility technologies such as Ubi Duo.
