Job Summary
Harman Huffman Construction Group (HHCG) is seeking a motivated Project Engineer / Estimator to join our office team. This hybrid role supports project management, field coordination, and preconstruction estimating. We’re looking for an individual who is self-driven, detail-oriented, and eager to learn and grow within our company.
Whether you have foundational experience or are early in your construction career, HHCG provides hands‑on, on‑site training and mentorship to help you advance into a strong contributor within both our project management and estimating groups.
Responsibilities- Manage and process submittals and RFIs
- Assist with plan review, drawing distribution, and document control
- Support communication between field superintendents and project management
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors on scopes, scheduling, and deliverables
- Prepare meeting minutes, logs, and project documentation
- Assist with scheduling updates (Microsoft Project)
- Support punchlist efforts and project closeout
- Review plans, specifications, and addenda to determine scope requirements
- Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with cost estimating
- Send bid invitations and coordinate subcontractor pricing
- Analyze subcontractor proposals and compare scope coverage
- Prepare budgets, bid tabs, and estimate packages
- Support value engineering and cost‑saving alternative evaluations
- Participate in internal preconstruction meetings and strategy sessions
- Entry‑level acceptable, mid‑level preferred (1–5 years in construction PM, PE, or estimating roles)
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred (but not required with experience)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office; experience with Bluebeam, Procore, or MS Project is a plus
- Self‑driven, motivated, and eager to learn through hands‑on training
- Ability to work full‑time in office
