We are looking for an Assistant Superintendent to assist the Superintendent with management of the community job site throughout construction, providing excellent customer service and ensuring quality, safety, and schedule adherence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Inspect each home daily to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to plans and specifications, and track progress against the production schedule.
- Schedule and walk all inspections with inspectors.
- Walk each completed home before homeowner walk‑through and closing sign‑off, noting outstanding items and arranging repairs.
- Conduct homeowner orientation and additional walks to ensure satisfaction.
- Aid the Superintendent in managing subcontractors, evaluating them on quality, safety, scheduling, and cost control.
- Enforce the site safety program and ensure subcontractor compliance with company standards and applicable safety codes.
- Maintain community and site cleanliness, keeping them free of trash and waste.
- Assist with construction material management to prevent damage, waste, and theft.
- Support the construction schedule and deliver a high‑quality product on time and within budget.
- Provide superior customer service at all construction phases.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with subcontractors and homeowners.
- Develop knowledge of building codes, construction materials, methodologies, terminology, and scheduling.
- Assume Superintendent responsibilities in their absence.
- Conduct business professionally and ethically to enhance customer satisfaction and company goodwill.
- Work overtime and additional hours as required.
Education and/or Experience
- High‑school diploma or GED.
- Six months to two years of related experience.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive to construction sites during day and night.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Ability to read plans and construction documents.
- Minimum supervision required; systematic approach to assignments.
- Ability to converse with customers, management, and personnel.
- Familiarity with DRH Construction applications on smartphone, tablet, or laptop.
- Proficiency with MS Office and email.
- Can lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college.
- Ability to work effectively in high‑pressure situations.
