Mechanical Piping Construction Estimator
A well-established specialty contractor operating across the U.S. is hiring a Mechanical Piping Construction Estimator for its Greater Kansas City office. This firm delivers multi-trade construction solutions — including mechanical, piping, HVAC, plumbing, and building systems — on complex non-residential projects in healthcare, industrial, mission critical, and heavy commercial sectors. This role offers a lead estimating position with real ownership over bid outcomes, team leadership, and direct access to decision-makers at the owner and GC level.
Anticipate $90K-$150K, dependent on experience

Overview:- Prepare detailed mechanical piping construction estimates used for bid preparation, project planning, subcontractor and vendor selection, and cost-effectiveness analysis
- Lead a team of estimators: manage work assignments, performance reviews, resource allocation, and skills development
- Collaborate with marketing to evaluate bid opportunities against the company's strategic growth targets
- Represent the firm's capabilities directly to GC and owner-level decision-makers during the estimating and pre-award process
- Consult with clients, vendors, and field staff to develop accurate estimates and resolve scope or pricing questions
- Track and analyze cost trends to support ongoing process improvement and margin management
- High school diploma or GED required;
Bachelor's degree in construction management or mechanical engineering preferred - Minimum 5 years of mechanical piping construction estimating experience
- Demonstrated experience bidding non-residential projects at $250,000+
- Experience in industrial, healthcare, mission critical, government, or heavy commercial construction preferred
- Proficiency with computerized estimating software;
Accubid Enterprise experience a plus - Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); willingness to learn new platforms required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable presenting to external stakeholders
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record required; must pass background check and drug screen
