The ideal candidate combines deep knowledge of critical facility construction with strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution
  • Manage end-to-end construction of hyperscale, colocation, and advanced manufacturing sites ranging from 5 MW to 100+ MW IT load capacity
  • Develop and maintain master project schedules (CPM), budgets, and resource plans from design through commissioning
  • Coordinate with design teams to review construction documents, resolve RFIs, and manage submittals
  • Lead procurement of general contractors, MEP subcontractors, and specialty trades
  • Conduct regular project status meetings and provide executive-level reporting on cost, schedule, and risk
Site Management & Oversight
  • Maintain a daily presence across 1–3 assigned campuses; coordinate scheduling and resources to keep all sites progressing concurrently
  • Supervise and direct general contractors, subcontractors, and third-party inspectors
  • Enforce site safety programs in compliance with OSHA and company EHS standards; lead weekly safety walks
  • Manage site logistics, lay-down areas, and access control to protect active operations adjacent to construction zones
Quality Assurance & Commissioning
  • Implement and enforce quality control programs across all construction disciplines (civil, structural, MEP, fire protection)
  • Oversee commissioning activities through Levels 1–5, coordinating with commissioning agents, vendors, and operations teams
  • Ensure all critical systems (UPS, generators, CRAC/CRAH, switch gear, BMS/DCIM) are installed and tested to design specifications
Budget & Cost Control
  • Own project budgets from initial estimates through final accounting; provide monthly cost-at-completion forecasts
  • Review and approve contractor pay applications, change orders, and vendor invoices in accordance with contract terms
  • Identify and mitigate cost risks proactively; present value‑engineering alternatives without compromising technical requirements
  • Serve as primary point of contact for landlords, utilities, local authorities, and permitting agencies
  • Partner with IT, operations, and facilities management teams to align construction milestones with business go‑live dates
  • Manage design‑build and EPC relationships, ensuring contract compliance and performance accountability
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of construction management experience, with at least 4 years focused on mission‑critical facilities
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects valued at $250M or greater
  • Strong working knowledge of MEP systems: generators, UPS, switch gear, PDUs, chillers, cooling towers, and HVAC
  • Proficiency with Procore, Autodesk Build, or equivalent; scheduling tools (P6, MS Project)
  • Thorough understanding of NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 72, ASHRAE, TIA-942, and Uptime Institute tier standards
  • OSHA 30‑Hour Construction certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
  • Strong executive communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Embody the QGC Core Values
Preferred
